About the Contributors
Eli Boatman, Broadcast Editor
Senior, Eli Boatman is just starting out on the Galaxy News broadcast team and has found his niche, creating the “Boatman on the Block” segment. Boatman shared that “In Mrs. Trier’s tenth grade English, I found that I had a devout love for Shakespeare’s writing, and I just loved reading through the poems, and just speaking and just being myself.”
Outside of Journalism, Boatman is a part of the football team and enjoys fishing.
To those unsure of whether or not to join, Boatman shared some qualities that people would want to have. “Gotta be bold, gotta want to talk, some don’t want to talk as much but that's okay because they get used to it. You can like the editing more, or you can like the actual speaking more.”
After high school, Boatman is unsure of exactly where he wants to go, but is currently thinking about attending Colorado Christian University.
Wyatt Massoth, Broadcast Editor
Wyatt Massoth is in his Senior year at North Polk and has taken on the role of a Broadcast editor.
“I joined this class because I had fun video ideas and wanted to do them with my friends,” expressed Massoth.
In school, he is involved in track and field and is also the leader of the North Polk Fellowship Christian Athletes program. Out of school he enjoys participating in his church group, traveling, spending time with friends and going on trips to the local Walmart. In the future he will be attending the Tippie School of Business at the University of Iowa and plans to double major in Marketing and Management and Entrepreneurship.
Hannah Drent, Broadcast Editor
Senior Hannah Drent is one of the new editors for the Broadcast and also plans on helping with the Yearbook. Drent decided to join the Broadcast after being a fan of the Broadcast’s Youtube channel and wanting to be part of the behind-the-scenes action.
“I have always loved the behind-the-scenes and loved the way the Broadcast class gelled together,” expressed Drent.
Drent is involved with track and field, cross country, marching band, concert band, pep band, play, speech, musical crew, Key Club, and the Fellowship Christian Athletes program. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dog. Furthermore she enjoys being involved in her Church Youth Group and helping with kids. Drent wants to study Psychology and Kinesiology possibly at Iowa State or the University of Iowa and wants to become a pediatric occupational therapist.
