Alexis Dorsett Grand View Signing

Four years of working hard in the weight room and the gym has really pulled off for “The Orbit”’s own Alexis Dorsett.

Dorsett has been active in cheerleading and track since middle school and is ready to take the next step in her athletic career: Grand View University Athletics.

Dorsett described her reason for visiting the college on Feb. 16, “I signed a letter of intention to participate in both cheerleading and track for next year.”

The decision to search for a college where she could continue her athletic career was made a couple of months ago due to her passion toward both of her sports. “When I was looking into colleges, Grand View popped up and they are NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes),  so I felt as though I would have a good small community with athletics alongside it,” explained Dorsett.

Alexis will start practicing for cheerleading in August and will participate in off season track practice until the indoor track season begins in January. The sports could potentially overlap in the month of January,  but her coaches are willing to be flexible.

There is still one more hurdle for Dorsett to jump over, “since I signed a letter of intention, I will then have to sign a letter of commitment in August.”
