Alexis Dorsett, Newspaper Editor
Alexis Dorsett, senior, is a Newspaper Editor for North Polk. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends or relaxing at home. Dorsett decided to be a Newspaper Editor at the end of her sophomore year when she was walking around the school to learn about all the classes that she could take after the sophomore year.
“I decided to be a Newspaper Editor because I enjoy writing, but not the essays people typically write in a normal English class. I enjoy telling stories and learning about what is happening in the community around me,” notes Dorsett.
Dorsett really likes and enjoys being a Newspaper Editor because of the relationships with her fellow article editors.
“Since there were only three people last year and two this year, I have been able to become comfortable with my fellow Newspaper Editor, Olivia Moody, and know that she will help me with my articles to make them the best they can be,” said Dorsett.
At school, she is involved in different extracurricular activities, the North Polk Student Council, The Football and Basketball Cheerleading Team, The Dance Team, and the Girls’ Track Team. After graduation, Dorsett plans to attend Grandview University to major in Biology with the Pre-Medicine pathway. After that, Dorsett would like to go to Des Moines University to complete Medical School.
